… interested to see what people say about taking it in the morning, in the evening, if I should have any over-the-counter medication to hand in case of side effects. What food/drink etc. Would love to hear your opinions please!
The pen is Mounjaro 2.5mg, I’m using it for weight loss.

Hello,
I started last month and have just moved up to the 5mg pen yesterday.
2 things I noted
First jab, I was wiped out and felt sick that first 2 days, heartburn medication was required. (Run of the mill Petol Bismol type stuff, I got a huge bottle from Savers for a fiver.)
And Imodium, yes I have needed it in frequently during the last month, but only because I've eaten something that hasn't agreed with me.
Other than feeling a bit ropey that first few days I've been fine!
Food noise won't immediately stop, but by the 2nd week for me it was noticably quieter.
By the end of the 4 weeks on 2.5mg it was pretty much silent.
Unheard of for me!
I'm 8lbs down so slow and steady but it's working.
I'm a type 2 diabetic and other medication wasn't doing the job on my sugar levels, but this is vastly improving them.
Goodluck!

@Fixesplease Thanks so much! Will invest in both those things before I start

I wouldn't bother buying anything like imodium or heartburn stuff as you may not need either of those. I think the reported rate of noticeable side effects is 1 in 10 or less. I haven't had any side effects or needed to take any kind of gastric medicine.
Offcom · 09/08/2024 10:24
@SilenceInside I hope I’m like that too 🤞
Local shops are dire, maybe I’ll get a small Pepto Bismal in case…

I haven't had any side effects 9 weeks in.
LionAndEmperor13 · 09/08/2024 10:33
Good luck!
I had /have no side effects at all. Just moved up to the 5mg.
Don't forget there is a 'bonus' 5th dose in each pen!
I've taken it at various times of day, doesn't seem to make any difference.
Food noise was pretty much silent from day 1.

I took my first dose in the evening. First few days I was exhausted. I also had a very high heart rate for the first day, for around 4 hours, which was somewhat disconcerting but thankfully that was the one and only time.
Other than that, I've had no side effects. Stomach, bowels etc totally fine. No heartburn. I went off food immediately. I had to force myself to eat the first week and food noise has all but disappeared. I've lost a stone and am having my "bonus" 5th dose from the first 2.5 pen tomorrow.

Thanks so much, and I will be researching the bonus dose!
It’s nice to see the replies re side effects reflecting what leaflet says in terms of a minority being affected.
Maybe I should just go for it right now! Argh or wait as I’ve taken Elvanse…

10 weeks in here and no side effects, other than the very welcome appetite suppression and feeling full for much, much longer.
Good luck with it.

@Snozzlemaid Thanks! Just done it… hope you continue to get good results

Good luck both.
I look forward to hearing about your losses.
It's the best thing I've ever done for myself and hope it's equally good for you.

@Offcom Yes all ok so far .though I did bruise on the injection site. I do bruise easily so I'm not worried.

How is it going every one? Not eaten that much but prob more psychological. Started to feel a bit tired this afternoon but again could be a coincidence

@Soberfutures That seems pretty positive! I feel fine in myself but haven’t done much today. Spontaneously went out for dinner and ate most of it (just a main course). At the moment I feel normal really – maybe less tempted by the Cornettos in the freezer than usual? I didn’t even look at the wine list at the restaurant, which is a bit strange actually!
Trying to drink more water than usual
